Creating a new brew/blend/base
Steps to cover when creating a new brew/blend/base
Step 1
Add a new product for the Brew/Blend/Base
The simplest way is to go to another brew/blend/base and clone it or
Go to Inventory/Product/Add Product
Enter the Product code – this must start with BR or BL– then the next two letters should be the initials of the new brews name (if you don’t know it yet you can enter a placeholder and change it later – see your notes file for How to Update Product Codes)
Complete details consistent with other similar brews

Nothing else needs to be added to the remaining pages
Save the product, now you can enter the “recipe”
Step 2
Go to Production/Bill of Materials/Add Bill of Materials

Enter the Product code for the brew you are making, i.e BRPL (for Pure Lager)
Enter the “recipe” based on 1 litre of the product
Untick Sort by Product Code (so that it keeps the recipe in the order you enter it)

Pay close attention to the quantities and unit costs. These should be reviewed occasionally to ensure they are correct – the costs will update automatically as the average cost updates as goods are receipted. If an item has been fully used, then the average cost will show as the last cost.
If there are any expenses added these will need to be assigned a GL code and the cost will be set – if it changes, it will need to be updated manually in each BOM
Save the Bill of Materials
Step 3 – For Brews Only
A Bright Beer code will also need to be created for each brew as below

And a BOM for it as below

Step 4
When you’re happy that the brew can be completed and bottled, you’ll need to create the remaining products – again the easiest way to do this is to clone a similar product
Create the all the Finished Products it will be available in i.e. Case of 12 x 330ml Bottles, Case of 12 x 620ml Bottles, Case of 12 x 650ml Bottles, 6 Pack x 330ml Bottles, 50L Keg, 30L Keg etc
Step 5
The last step is to create a Bill of Materials for each of the products you have just created.
For the finished products, they will look something like this:
Case of 12 x 330ml Bottles

The quantity of the bright beer or blend is the total litres used i.e. 12 x .330 = 3.96. Currently we also have wastage of 3% added (=0.1188)– check with Flynnie/Chris as this may be updated as they see fit
50L Keg
